Nina: It is holidays like the Fourth of July that make me realize the incredibly special place in which we live. The beauty is obvious, we see that every day, but less frequently, we see things like our good, old fashioned 4th of July celebration - people gathering for the parade, heading to the carnival and assembling with friends and family to barbecue or swim or simply to be together. It's when everyone joins together on a day like this that it becomes so apparent the community that we have, the village. I'm always amazed at how many friendly people I encounter, how many smiles and hellos, the number of people one can actually know in a small town. With the cost of living, it's not always easy to be here, but I understand why we do it. I am grateful each and every day that I get to call the Santa Ynez Valley home!

1483 Kronborg Drive, Solvang (3/2 on .77 of an acre) 829K This one has location going for it big time. In Viking Hills, which is already popular to its out of the way location yet still very convenient to everything. Corner location, has a nice large open space behind it and also across the street where I have seen deer gathering many times. The end result is a lot more elbow room than you typically get in any neighborhood but especially at this price point.
