I've had quite a few clients who have had Ring doorbells. I didn't give them much thought until recently when a client mentioned that she could see some buyers agents leaving the house, talking about the house etc. My client could see when people were coming and going and when it was ok to go back home. So the Ring doorbell can become so much more than just a security device. It can actually help you keep tabs on the legitimate stuff going on at your house too in addition to monitoring security issues. What time did the kids get home? Did the babysitter show up on time? Did they order a pizza? What time did the gardener show up? Which neighbor is letting their dog poop on your lawn?  So I bought one and installed it last night. My husband being the prankster  thought it was pretty funny (and it was) to talk to our cats on the porch through the Ring speaker. They didn't think it was all that funny but the speaker does work! Anyway, if you like me are interested in a little more security, are sick of packages getting stolen, want to know when your kids are coming or going or in general don't want to open the door to strangers, I highly suggest investing $200 in a Ring doorbell. You get a jingle on your app, can see and talk to people on your doorstep no matter if you are home or not, you can even record video and you can freak out your cats if you want to. They have them at Best Buy, on Amazon etc. The app is pretty slick and you'll never miss a beat, even when you aren't home. Rechargeable battery pack makes them work or you can upgrade and get the hardwired kind which seemed like a hassle to me. Easy and fun and if your packages get stolen, at least you'll know who did it!

New Listing

56 Hickory, Solvang (3/2 on .23 of an acre) 632K In Alisal Meadows down by the river, this is a very desirable area of Solvang away from the city but close enough to easily enjoy all the conveniences. This is the plan in a little less than 1500 square feet on a generous almost quarter acre parcel. Interesting photo layout with alternating pics of what a space would like staged and the next frame what the room actually looks like. I've heard of this and been approached about it by photographers but never actually seen it around here anyway.

616 Valley Oak, Solvang (4/4 on .49 of an acre)  Was $1,195,000 with a new price of $1,149,000. Original price back in February was $1,245,000. No question this is one of the nicest Skytt Mesa homes I have been in. Not sure if this is the plan 5 or the plan 6 but either way, this true great room floor plan in over 2300 square feet was the most requested during the building out of this neighborhood. Master on one side, guest rooms on the other, met in the middle by a spacious and airy great room with pretty kitchen and dramatic dining area in addition to magnet bar seating. Endless upgrades in flooring, lighting and surfaces. The outdoor entertaining space rivals homes in the 2 mil plus range. Not kidding either. The infinity pool, cabana, decking and outdoor kitchen are over the top amazing. With a perimeter location overlooking Hans Christian Anderson park, spending time outside really is as enjoyable as being inside. If you like a lot of wow factor, see this one especially at this new price.
