7/17/17 .... that's a pretty unusual date. 

Talk about unusual. Whereas it is highly irregular to have inherited a piece of real estate and then not bothered to even go see it or pay any bills for 13 years, this LA Times article is a very good reminder of how squatters can take your property and make your life hell in the process. Forged deeds are an ongoing problem for title companies and counties alike. Squatters are everywhere and some of them are very smart. We aren't talking vagrants here. We are talking seasoned, calculating crooks. Be on the look out for yourself or if a property near you that has been vacant for a while suddenly becomes occupied, you might start asking questions or run it by a Realtor and see what they know. We have to watch each others backs with this kind of nefarious activity. Click here for the LA Times Article

673 Hillside, Solvang (2/3 on .08 of an acre) $659,900 This is the model with the garage accessed by stairs but those who are avoiding stairs should not scroll down quite yet. This one wisely has an elevator. Come on. Admit it. You always wanted to have your own private elevator right? :)

3050 Canade Este, Santa Ynez (main house and managers apartment on 18 acres) Was $3,100,000 with a new price of $2,875,000. This ranchette is in Ranch Ynecita which is relatively close to town and gated. Lots of riding or hiking trails too.

61 Valley Station, Buellton (3/3 on .08 of an acre)  Listed at 524K and sold final for $517,500. 

2751 Corral De Quati, Los Olivos (3/2 on 1.37 acres)  Listed at 895K and sold final for exactly that, 895K. Vineyard views with privacy.
