One of the many completely amazing things about this valley is that so many of us are from somewhere else. I talk to people I don't know every single day and I am lucky enough to hear their stories. A constant thread is that many of us could live anywhere we want to but we choose to live here. Many tell the story of stumbling upon the valley, or passing through, or reading about it or a friend giving them advice to visit. And then they discovered this is one of the most beautiful places on earth with a lifestyle all its own and so they stayed. Along all of our paths, just one different decision could have taken us to a different life in a different location but here we are, living in a kind of paradise. And that got me to thinking about one of my favorite songs. Some of you will have heard it but I'm guessing not many. Balsam Range tells it best in Trains I Missed.
